What a handsome man you were when you were young!

You served your Country with pride.

I wish I had known you then, But then again,

You wouldn't have been my daddy if I had.

I remember sitting on your lap in the living room in the rocking chair.

I remember when you came in my bedroom because I was scared after watching the movie "Willard" and my hamster was making noise!

I remember watching you work out in the yard. You made it so nice.

I remember when you brought in a baby rabbit that the dog brought home,

so that I could try to take care of it.

I remember ice fishing at Nana & Grandpa's house, burrr that was cold.

I don't remember you ever yelling at me.

I don't remember you ever saying no.

I remember when you got sick

When the doctor told you over the phone you only had 1 year to live.

I remember the tears.

I remember seeing you laying in our living room in the hospital bed.

I remember you giving yourself shots to help stop the pain.

I remember that day...

Mom said you weren't in pain anymore.

I smiled for a second daddy, I was only 11, I thought you were better.

Then I realized you were gone.
I remember crying

For you... But you didn't come back

I forgot how handsome you were daddy.

It's been 29 years

We had everything then Daddy, because of you.

You were a great provider

A great family man

A great daddy.

I miss you and love you Daddy

I know where you are and I know I will see you again someday..

But between now and then
